NOTES: HCW was a student at Baker University from 1899 to 1903, in the Academy Prepatory division.
(Because high schools were not standardized then, courses were often required to begin at the college level.)
Registration Cards show that he registered at the Academy in 1897 (age 22), that his parents would supply bread and board and pay
expenses; that his father's business was "farmer," address Oskaloosa.
In 1900, 1901, 1902, and 1903, he was registered as a freshman at the college.
From 1900 forward, his father gave his address as Baldwin, Kansas.
HCW listed his means of support in those years as both, parents and self. (His father may have been ill at this time.)
(A lot happened in the years after 1903: HCW married in 1905, his father died in 1906, and his first child Marian was born in 1906.)
A 1902 document lists his selection of major and minor courses, with the projected graduation date of 1905.
But he did not graduate from Baker University.
